A COVID-19 patient has died at Salisbury District Hospital

Salisbury District Hospital has confirmed the death of a patient who had tested positive for COVID-19 and died on Thursday 23rd December.

A spokesperson for the hospital said, “We are sorry to report that on Thursday 23rd December a man in his 70s passed away due to COVID-19 infection.

"Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this difficult time."

This brings the total that have died at Salisbury District Hospital to 232. At present, there are currently 14 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.

"We would ask the public to remain cautious and to take appropriate precautions to avoid transmission, such as mask wearing in crowded places and good hand hygiene.

"In addition, people should take up the invitation for a COVID-19 vaccine when offered. It is never too late to get a first vaccine. COVID-19 booster vaccinations are also available for those who are eligible.”
